I’m Patrick Bresser, founder of Compass Home Watch LLC.
For over 40 years, I’ve called Grosse Pointe home—growing up here, raising my family here, and making it a point to appreciate everything that makes this community special.
Whether it’s a morning drive down Lake Shore, an evening on the water with friends, or a neighborhood barbecue in one of our beautiful parks, Grosse Pointe always feels like a resort town with a true sense of community.
A Community That Shaped Me
This place shaped who I am. It’s where I’ve built lifelong friendships, shared memories with five generations of family, and come to truly appreciate the trust and privacy Grosse Pointe homeowners value.
Where the Idea Began
The idea for Compass Home Watch started close to home—literally.
When my parents would travel, the same questions always came up:
- How are we getting to the airport?
- Who’s checking on the house?
- Can you grab the mail and clear off the porch?
- Will the heat be on when we get home?
My siblings and I always made sure groceries were stocked the day before they got back, so their home felt just right. It was a family effort to make their return seamless—and that experience stuck with me.
That’s when I realized: these are the same thoughts every homeowner has when they’re away.
Compass Home Watch was built to offer that same thoughtful, hands-on care—reliable, personal, and worry-free.
Built on Craftsmanship and Service
My career started in the trades—framing custom homes, building additions, and eventually moving into fine finish carpentry. I’ve had the privilege of working on some of the area’s most beautiful homes—crafting oak-paneled libraries, custom kitchens, and fine architectural details that reflect the character of Grosse Pointe. That work gave me a deep appreciation for the quality and care these homes deserve.
25 Years of Professional Experience
For the past 25 years, I’ve worked in the direct mail and marketing industry—managing complex, deadline-driven projects for political campaigns, businesses, and nonprofits.
That work sharpened my ability to communicate clearly, deliver consistently, and manage tasks with discretion and professionalism.
